The Necessity of the Virgin Birth

December 3, 2017 Speaker: Cedric Moss Series: Christmas Messages

Passage: Luke 1:26–38

The virgin birth of Christ is perhaps the most significant foundational doctrine of the Christian faith. However, it is also one of the most attacked doctrines of the Christian faith. Many people scoff at the teaching that Jesus did not have a human father, that he was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Yet, for almost 2000 years Christians have believed and continue to believe that Jesus Christ was indeed conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Why is this doctrine so important? Today’s message focuses on the virgin birth and its necessity for the redemption of sinners.
