A Living Faith

Passage: James 2:14–26

No doubt you have heard or perhaps even said these words: “Faith without works is dead.” But what do those words mean? When properly understood, the truth communicated in those words should cause every person who professes Christianity to soberly ask: Is mine a living faith? James tells us why our response as believers to that question is important, and he also tells us what living faith looks like. As we listen to God’s word today, let us ask the Lord to grant us grace to be doers of the word and not hearers only, in order that we might have a living faith.
